PKK terrorists raided a wedding ceremony in the southern province of Adana with weapons and Molotov cocktails on Sunday night, killing one person and injuring another.

A group of face-covered PKK militants stormed the wedding reception and threatened to shed blood if the wedding was not cancelled. After the family hosting the wedding refused to act upon the terrorists' demand, the militants began randomly firing on the crowd, killing Halil Arslan, 28, and injuring İbrahim Ağar, 35.

After the attack, the terrorists immediately left the scene. The Adana police force has launched an investigation to capture the escaped terrorists.

Furthermore, in August a local wedding in the Yenişehir district of southeastern Diyarbakır province was raided by members of the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H) terrorist organization, which is the youth wing of the PKK.

While the wedding guests were doing the traditional Anatolian "halay" dance, the terrorists interrupted the celebrations with long-barreled weapons and masks, forcing them to call off the wedding. The group of YDG-H terrorists threatened to "shed blood if the wedding isn't cancelled." The wedding guests scattered in fear, ending the wedding. After leaving the house at which the wedding celebrations were being held, the terrorists attacked police forces with stun grenades and fireworks at the Seyrantepe junction.

Renewed violence in Turkey has come in the wake of the July 20 Suruç bombing which was allegedly carried out by ISIS and left dozens of people dead. The subsequent PKK-linked murder of two Turkish police officers at their home sparked a new wave of conflict in the country.

The Turkish government has intensified its counterterror operations following the recent attacks carried out by the PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by the U.S., the EU and Turkey.

Formed in 1978, the terrorist group has been fighting the Turkish government for an independent state until the early 2000's. The group then shifted its goal to autonomy in predominately Kurdish inhabited regions of Turkey.
